Frikadellen with Pan Sauce ๐Ÿฅฉ๐Ÿฅ›

We have posted this iconic German delicacy before but this time we are leveling it up with a bomb pan sauce ๐Ÿ˜

I love to get grassfed beef and corn and soy free pork from Apsey Farms- you can use code HELEN10 to save ๐Ÿ™‚

To make you need:

1 lb ground beef ๐Ÿฎ

1 lb ground pork ๐Ÿท

1/2 finely chopped onion ๐Ÿง…

4 tablespoons coconut flour ๐Ÿฅฅ

eggs ๐Ÿฅš

Ancestral fat like lard for frying ๐Ÿณ

Salt and pepper ๐Ÿง‚

For the sauce:

Heavy cream ๐Ÿฅ›

More seasoning ๐Ÿง‚

Optimally some parmesan or pecorino ๐Ÿง€

To make:

Combine the meat, eggs, coconut flour, onion and spices in a bowl and mix thoroughly ๐Ÿ˜‹

If you like, you can also add in finely chopped bell pepper, but traditionally, itโ€™s just onion. Next, form large round meatballs with your hand.

Fry the meatballs in lard, usually they need about 20-25 minutes total depending on their size.

Make sure the lard is hot so that you can get a nice sear and crust. When they are ready, remove them from the pan and add in the cream to deglaze the pan ๐Ÿ˜ all the yummy drippings will create a great flavor profile. Add more seasoning to taste and optionally grate in some raw parmesan or pecorino ๐Ÿง€

Serve either as is or with a low carb side like miracle noodles ๐Ÿœ
